“This is the second time that this Jeep has not let me accelerate in hwy traffic. Over 40 MPH and then just dies on me.. The transmission overheat light comes on and I cant drive because it dies shortly after that.. I thinking there is possible an upcoming vehicle recall for transmission.. It is currently at the dealership which the first time nothing was found for the same problem”

NHTSA complaint #11229009, filed 2019-07, 145,000 miles

“The stick shift does not move out of park. It stays locked in that position. I have to keep pulling on the shift handle and pumping the brake to get it to unlock. The vehicle is in stationary mode. I am unsure what us causing the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #11300400, filed 2020-01, 40,000 miles

“After I pumped gas into the car, as soon as I exited the gas station and entered on the street the car engine goes off, no power steering, no acceleration. I pull over to the right and put the car on park and restart the car. It was ok. I was hesistant to get on the freeway so I drove to a empty lot to see if it happen again and sure enough as soon as I travel a few yards, the engine goes off again. Scary if it happens in the middle of the freeway with lots of traffic.”

NHTSA complaint #11083816, filed 2018-04, 120,000 miles

“I have a 2012 Jeep Compass sport, since july 2013 I have been having sputtering, surging, acceleration issues. I have taken to dealer over 3 times it is in dealer currently. They have put a tracker on to find issue and still nothing. When I try to accelerate and it gets bogged down and does not want to go any further this is a concern. Especially when I am entering highway and cannot get past 59mph with the car. It feels like I am in a windtunnel the low acceleration is insane. Sometimes it feels like it does not want to shift. Sometimes it takes 4-10 minutes just to get to 60 MPH. …”

NHTSA complaint #10573121, filed 2014-03, 28,000 miles

“While driving at highway speeds, suddenly unable to apply gas or control steering and vehicle slowed as if gas pedal was not depressed at all. A second time, after coming to a stop sign the engine shut down. The radio and other electronics remained on but vehicle would not restart. Had vehicle towed to independent service shop and unable to duplicate problem or locate any error code.”
