“1.) I own 2024 Jeep Compass Latitude 4x4. Several occasions where rodents have climbed into engine eating away at all the wire components. First time totaling about $4000. No other closely parked cars have been affected since we live in apartment complex. 2.) The automatic emergency braking light keeps illuminating and has activated at least twice during traffic unprovoked and always says to clean all sensors. We have done that but the light still comes on when it wants to.”
NHTSA complaint #11715863, filed 2026-02“We purchased our 2024 jeep Compass on 12-10-2024 with about 3,000 miles on it. Our problems started on the vehicle on or about Nov. 2025. First the lane assist would go out and we were unable to turn it back on, when we tried the light in the button would blink 2 times then stay on. We reached home and shut car off and when we started it we pressed lane assist and it worked. We drove it for about 3 weeks then it happened again. My wife pulled over and tried to turn on switch again. …”
NHTSA complaint #11740169, filed 2026-05“A few weeks are I bought the car, it started having sensor issues. It would tell me that my brake lights are out, my lane assist is not available, my turn signals are not available, etc. After spending weeks at the mechanics, the dealership gave me the car back and said that everything was fine. A week later, all of the sensors started messing up again one of the sensors that was messing up was the auto brake system. As I was driving on the highway at 75 mph, the car thought that I was about to hit another car. …”
NHTSA complaint #11684217, filed 2025-08“Electrical system is astoundingly horrible in these Jeep Compasses. When steering wheel is turned to make a turned or when it is raining, the dashboard lights up with error messages stating, front collision unavailable, auto high beam unavailable, Auto Emergency Braking Limited Functionality, blind spot alert unavailable all requiring service. This is not the first Jeep Compass this has happened too, it also happened with my previous Compass - which I took it in for service more than 11 times for these same issues.”
NHTSA complaint #11671526, filed 2025-07“The electrical system in my 2025 Jeep Compass repeatedly displays multiple warning messages, including issues with the engine, AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking), and “Start/Stop Disabled.” Recently, the airbag warning light has begun turning on and off daily, advising to “get service.” When I bring the vehicle to the dealership, the error codes are no longer present, and the technicians say they cannot duplicate the issues. However, while driving recently—with no other vehicles nearby—the AEB system suddenly activated, causing unexpected emergency braking. …”
