“Three times now, my steering wheel feels like it’s jerking out of my hands and difficult to turn. It has happened at low speeds while maneuvering in parking lots. I’m afraid it’ll happen at higher speeds as it gets worse.”
NHTSA complaint #11729120, filed 2026-04“The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle stalled and started jerking, with the battery warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the steering wheel was shaking abnormally during the failure. The vehicle was restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 29,000.”
NHTSA complaint #11693307, filed 2025-10, 29,000 miles“Jeep compass is notorious for electrical issues. Randomly jolts because of the turbo. Randomly pops up electrical issues when there are no electrical issues. On the date of October 26 the car was flashing signals and lights that correlated to nothing going on with the car and locked both its brakes and gas. Thankfully, I was not on the road yet because the car would not start. The car control system aswell jolts the car during unnecessary times.”
