“While driving down the high way at 60mph my radio died for 3-5 seconds and after it came back on my whole engine/ car died and the dash lights lit up. When I pushed the clutch in and released it the car came back on.”
NHTSA complaint #10210940, filed 2007-12, 7,300 miles“In july of 2008 I experienced what Jeep owners are calling the death wobble in my 2007 wrangler. While passing a car I hit a small bump in the road and my whole front end of my Jeep began to shake violently and I was unable to control the vehicle. The Jeep was brought into the dealership where they replaced the steering damper(covered under warranty). On feb 9th 2009 while driving south on the garden state parkway at approximately 65 to 70 MPH I again hit a small bump and the Jeep began to shake violently and I could not control the vehicle. …”
NHTSA complaint #10258842, filed 2009-02, 36,000 miles“2007 Jeep wrangler x -- drive down the highway at 50mph, hit a bump and the entire front of the vehicle shakes violently and won't stop until you slow down to about 10mph. This has occurred a number of times. It is on its second visit to the dealer on this issue, I did web searches on the issue and saw numerous comments of the death wobble I firmly believe I experienced what I see on the web. I would return the vehicle and ask for my money back.... This isn't a laughing issue. Chrysler must have a permanant fix for such an issue or the public is at risk.”
