“Our 2 week old 2016 Jeep Wrangler willys was in a solo collision in july 2016. My partner hit water, hydroplaned, and then hit a guardrail with the front end at 50+ MPH on a 4 lane highway. She went airborne, flipped several times and was ejected from the vehicle. The seats came out and roll bars failed, but the airbags also never went off despite the initial impact. We do not know if she was wearing her seatbelt. …”
NHTSA complaint #10897438, filed 2016-08, 200 miles“The back seat when in the up position flops back and forth with no way to lock in it in. When the vehicle is stopped from high speeds the back seat springs forward hitting both front seats very hard which results in the driver and the passengers being pushed hard into the dashboard. The seat also will unfold in the back of the vehicle crushing anything in the back including my dog who was injured while riding in the back.”
