“I was driving down the road going 55 MPH and a huge gust of white smoke came thru the dash vent system so I pulled over and got out of my Jeep sahara and noticed a big mass of white smoke coming out from under the hood... 2 minutes later, fire started and within a couple minutes my whole front part of the jeeps engine was engulfed in flames. Than from there it burned up the rest of the Jeep.. This vehicle was completely destroyed in a matter of 10-15 minutes.. I was driving on a paved road in the country ..”

NHTSA complaint #11091505, filed 2018-05, 60,000 miles

“While driving on a straight road, I shifted in my driver's seat and the seat back collapsed to the rear seat. This caused a momentary loss of control of the vehicle. I attempted to raise the seat back with the recliner mechanism. This allowed me to sit up in a highly reclined position (wherein my arms were stretched to the maximum in order to drive the remainder of my trip). I didn't drive the vehicle the next day. …”

“I have a 2011 Jeep Wrangler. I have had my Jeep into the dealership four times so far for a leaking roof. Each time I get it back it is supposed to be fixed and the problem is worse. I pd them $1500. On the first visit. They even sent it back to me wet once. It has had so much water in it so many times I wonder if it has mold. I have had it detailed and dried several times, but what about what I can't see, in the vents...every time I turn on the AC or heater or defrost am I blowing mold spores all over and then breathing them in? …”

NHTSA complaint #10919243, filed 2016-10, 5,000 miles

“I started my Jeep this morning in my driveway with the factory remote start, 10 min later I walked out of my house and saw flames and smoke coming from my drivers side door. A car driving by had stopped and called 911. Another neighbor ran over with a fire extinguisher and we were able to get the fire in control before the fire department got there. The driver side door is completely destroyed and melted, the window is gone. The roof, seat and surrounding area are also damaged. The fire appeared to have started somewhere in the driver side door. …”

NHTSA complaint #10562796, filed 2014-02, 50,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the driver's seat belt fractured while the contact was secured in the driver seat. The contact discovered that the driver seat mount was also fractured. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the driver seat belt needed to replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was a 60,000.”
