“Went with my family to dinner and vehicle worked fine as usual. When we got back into the vehicle after dinner and I started it, I noticed the airbag light on, the A/C was on full blast and interior lights stopped working. Turned vehicle off, waited a minute and tried again with same results. Went home, disconnected the battery terminals, waited a couple of minutes and reconnected them and still the problem. Have looked on the internet and noticed other owners with same problem and no solution.”
NHTSA complaint #10523654, filed 2013-07, 70,000 miles“It all started when my wife picked up the vehicle in question from a rental salesman, he told her that she should not plug our GPS unit into the cigarette lighter or it would cost $90.00 for us to repair the light that would come on for the air bags. We did not plug the unit into the cigarette lighter but plugged it into the accessory power outlet. On sunday 07/12/09 I encountered a problem. The air bag light came on, the air conditioner only came on high, and the interior lights went out. It's an electrical problem in the outlets.”
NHTSA complaint #10277660, filed 2009-07, 31,000 miles“Purchased a 2008 Kia Sedona used with a 3yr 36k extended warranty. On the way home I tested to see if the cig lighter worked in the dash. The air bag light illuminated, and the interior lights no longer work. Also the A/C fan in the cabin is now stuck on high when in use. This is an annoyance however the major concern is the air bags will now not function. After extensive online research this is more than a common occurrence. Kia should be forced to recall every electrically faulty vehicle they put out. …”
NHTSA complaint #10461139, filed 2012-06, 89,000 miles“With only 700 miles on Sedona minivan I have had an air bag sensor go bad, a drivers side sliding door sensor go bad, a passenger side front door sensor go bad, the ip computer (fuse box) inside vehicle near drivers side) burn up completely.”
