“We discovered a fuel leakage after getting gas, but did not discover this leak until after driving home from the gas station. There was a strong smell of gasoline and we noticed that the fuel gauge went down rather quickly. After getting home from the gas station, we noticed the smell of gas was still very strong and that was when we noticed the leak, on our driveway. In the time that we were driving, we had been leaking gasoline the whole time, and could have lost our lives on our way home. …”

“Gas smell in car 11/2017 while in motion. Experiencing a sort of 'hesitation', like wanting to stall. Brought to dealer. Dealer identified issue- crack in fuel rail, leaking on engine. Item was not covered under warranty and quoted at just under $1k to repair. The dealership wanted me to sign a waiver saying I knew my car was a fire hazard since I couldn't afford to pay their rates for the repair. Told me I would end up in the news if I didn't get it fixed there. I refused, and took my car to my local repair shop where I paid for the repair.”

NHTSA complaint #11316246, filed 2020-03, 72,000 miles

“Car was delivered to Kia of south austin for repair as per sc165a (airbag recall) and for sc188 (fuel rail recall) on monday may 25th. Dealer confirmed that there is a fuel leak at the fuel rail location. Dealer was instructed by Kia motors of america to disable the car until a remedy is available. It is now saturday may 30th and there is no remedy timeline for the fuel leak and the dealer refuses to conduct the airbag remedy.”

NHTSA complaint #11326612, filed 2020-05, 92,631 miles

“There is a continuous leakage of oil from my van even after the dealer replaced valve cover gasket . When I complained they said it was the leftover oil. After a month again I complained . Then they re-checked and said it is my car's timing cover reseal leaking . Again after few days I had to complain as there was a leak. I got the same standard reply of leftover uncleaned oil is the cause. Few weeks later I took the van to them and they said they thoroughly cleaned and there won't be any leak. I sent them pictures of oil drops underneth the car like I did on earlier occassions. …”
