“I was driving the 2014 Kia sorento on us27 in cincinnati, ohio (55mph zone) and all of a sudden the vehicle slowed (I wasn't pressing the brake pedal) and the vehicle stopped in the middle of a busy roadway. I had to floor the gas to get it to move to the side of the roadway. There was a odor of something burning when I finally got out of the road. The traction control light was illuminated during the time. The vehicle had to be towed to a local Kia dealer. They said it had 5 major codes on diagnostic, they couldn't duplicate the problem that lead me to the dealer. …”
NHTSA complaint #10837349, filed 2016-02, 53,000 miles“Fire and smoke appeared from crevice of right side of hood while driving.Temp.gauge shot up and engine over heated.Shut car off at hotel and restarted Kia Sedona next morning to take to a Tulsa,OK nearby dealership.It performed weakly with a thumping sound albeit without over heating.Service dept at midtownkia on 4747 S Yale; informed me I need an engine replacement costing around $16,000.”
