“I own a 2023 Kia Sportage Pro While driving to work, I heard an explosive sound that sounded like a gunshot on the top of my vehicle. I pulled over to see that my sunroof had exploded. I checked for any objects that may have hit it, and the only thing that was in the top of the roof was glass. Thankfully, my cover was closed on my sunroof for a glass would have been all over causing possible injury.”

NHTSA complaint #11761797, filed 2026-09

“I was driving on the highway going about 70mph and the car completely shut off. When off I couldn’t accelerate or brake. I put my hazards on and pulled over. The car continued to turn off and on. It couldn’t stay on. Still don’t know what’s wrong with it but a HUGE safety concern.”

NHTSA complaint #11774550, filed 2026-10

“The rubber piece on the arc above the wheel popped off while I was driving. It got caught under the car damaging the under carriage. I was going about 40mph and close to my destination to pull over. If I had been going at a higher speed, or there were other cars around me, or I was on a highway this could have been much worse. I don't know how a car part just comes off like this”

NHTSA complaint #11513584, filed 2023-03

“God Morning For the past several months my computer screen flickers back and forth while driving. cuts off then on off then on. We have tried to get the dealership to see the problem but while with them it doesnt happen until afterwards. Need some help before we take the next steps with Kia”

NHTSA complaint #11571802, filed 2024-02

“My warning light & description for check AWD/4WD started coming on after the first road trip. It then came on everytime I drove the vehicle. Now the dealership service department is dealing with the main KIA maintenance to determine why the light comes on every time the vehicle is driven, even half a mile.”
