“My car shifts into neutral while I’m driving. This is the same issue that I see recalls for but it’s stating that my car is not effected. Also, the rear suspension makes a loud grinding noise for no reason. It’s weird because other 2014 Land Rovers have these exact same recall warnings and my vin number comes up clear on the internet. This vehicle only has 45k miles on it.”

NHTSA complaint #11516585, filed 2023-04

“I have researched my 2014 Range Rover Evoque and have come upon 2 recalls. First one is recal no. 16V614000. This is where the vehicle unexpectedly shifts to neutral as I am driving. I had a few instances with this as I was driving and car shifting to neutral and gearbox gets stuck...resulting in getting stuck in the middle of the road. The second recall is recall no. 14V155000 regarding the suspension. The damaged bolts may fail, allowing the link arm to separate from the vehicle, resulting in a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash. …”

The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, the air bags in the vehicle unexpectedly deployed and the front passenger side wheel, hub, and the ball joints detached, causing the vehicle to flip over. No warning lights were illuminated. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and was later declared a total loss.
