“Car will not start because of electrical computer and when it does start the car stalls when out on the road or highway putting my family or myself at risk of injury or death. I called Lincoln hotline and they refused to pay for the repair after it had already been to a dealership for diagnostic they couldn't figure out what was wrong and said it was fine then went to pick car up and it wouldn't start. When home to get spare key still same problem. …”

NHTSA complaint #11206533, filed 2019-05, 89,400 miles

“Approximately 1 month ago (in may, 2014), while in the parked position and in a parking space, no foot on brake or accelerator, my 2007 Lincoln MKZ (61,000 miles) engine suddenly revved up and began to thrust forward. I immediately hit my brake hard, which stopped the car prior to hitting the curb or other obstacles; however, had it not been for my quick reflex, I shudder to think what might have happened! There was a curb, a trash can, and a building directly in front of me, and had I not been able to stop the car, there's no doubt I would have plowed straight thru all! …”

NHTSA complaint #10606477, filed 2014-06, 61,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was pulling to one side. There was an abnormal winding noise detected. The window failed to go up when the button was depressed. The engine and air bag warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that there was no wheel bearing work completed on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 210,000. The VIN was not available.”

NHTSA complaint #11583999, filed 2024-04, 210,000 miles

“Internal Water pump Failed causing immediate shutdown of vehicle. This water pump is internal to the engine and requires half of the engine be taken apart to be replaced. This affect all 3.5 and 3.7 Ford engines through 2021. Unlike traditional water pumps which are belt driven this one is driven by the timing chain. Thereby when failure occurs the engine shuts down. Coolant also leaks into the oil as a result possibly resulting in engine damage. Ford is fully aware of the defect and refuses to recall. …”
