NHTSA complaint #10788692, filed 2015-11, 10,000 miles

“I have been having trouble with my car stalling and a problem with the brakes, I pulled up some recall information on this particular car and these problems that I am experiencing have been recalled. When I called the Mazda service, I was told that it didn't affect my car. Clearly it does if I'm having these problems.”

NHTSA complaint #10047063, filed 2003-11

“The front brakes on the above mentioned vehicle wear out every 10,000 miles or so. There is currently 47,000 on the vehicle, and I have changed the brakes 7 times!!! I notified Mazda USA, and nothing was ever done. I took it back to the dealership, and was told several times by service manager that this was normal wear and that I might want to change my driving habits, which., by the way, are not bad”

NHTSA complaint #759535, filed 2002-03

“I bought the car with 5000 miles. Just over a year of owning it I had to put new brakes on the car. In april of 2002 it needed a brake job again. For a car that is less than 3 years old it is having to many problems with the brakes. Now the brakes think they are on at all times and the car vibrates. I have went to three mechanics and they can't find what is causing this problem. I feel that they sold me a car that was in an accident or something was really wrong when they sold it to me.”

NHTSA complaint #762097, filed 2002-05

“The contact owns a 1999 Mazda 626. While driving 55 MPH downhill, the contact stated that she lost control of the steering when she depressed the brake pedal then crashed into a tree. As a result, the crash destroyed the vehicle. The road conditions were wet. The rear passenger sustained a broken left leg while seated in a child seat. There is a recall for service brakes, hydraulic: foundation components: master cylinder (NHTSA campaign id #00v074000) however, the manufacturer stated that her VIN was not included. As of january 2, 2008, the dealer had not inspected the vehicle. …”
