“The air suspension intermittently drops the car, resulting in a warning light that says car too low, pull over. You have to stop the car wherever it happens immediately as the car is so low it rubs the wheels on the wheel wells. I've had to stop on the side of two different freeways and up in the mountains when it was 10 degrees outside. It will usually raise back up if you turn the car off and on several times, but sometimes it may take much longer for it to raise back up. Sometimes when I come out in the morning the car has lowered as well.”

This event has occurred numerous times in both directions resulting in excessive wear and chaffing on the outer tread of each front tire. Mercedes technicians ruled the car was reacting according to design and the cause was worn tires (even though the tires still had 5/32 inch of tread left. …”
NHTSA complaint #10459541, filed 2012-05, 30,000 miles“My car has this issue that when I am slowing down it will automatically shift to park and will not let me shift to drive until I turn the car off and on. This puts not only me, but the person behind me at risk. I took the car to a mechanic and he stated that there was no recall for this issue but that I should contact you (NHTSA). …”
