“The incident occurred on wednesday, january 14, 2015 at 8:00 am est. I was traveling on indiana highway. The incident occurred as I was listening to the radio while driving the speed limit of 70 miles per hour. As I was driving, all of a sudden there was a loud explosion. I swerved to the left in the vehicle because I was unsure what the explosion was or came from. As soon as I heard the explosion, thick pieces of glass fell from the sunroof. Large pieces of glass fell on the back seat. …”
NHTSA complaint #10679491, filed 2015-01, 63,000 miles“In june 2011, I was driving at about 55 MPH when the windshield cracked and broke on the passenger side, in the corner, about midway between the top and the bottom. At time of the break, there was an impact sound, as if a pebble had hit the windshield, but I didn't see any object. The windshield was replaced about two weeks later. In october 2011, the windshield broke again in just about the same spot on the windshield, under the same driving conditions, this time in a different state. It just seem like an unlikely coincident. Could there be a defect in the glass?”
