Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Pirelli scorpion zero tires. With less than 8,000 miles on the tires, I rolled over a one inch stone while driving 30 MPH and the tire immediately lost air pressure. If this would have happened at high speed I would have lost control of the vehicle. The company's position is that the tire is safe, even though the stone penetrated through the full tread into the tire cavity. …”

“Continental tires-I have had failures of 3 tires on a new car, a mercedes e350 4matic, equipped with continental 245/40/18 tires. Two tires had weak sidewall and blew out after hitting potholes at low speeds. The last had a bubble in the sidewall.”
