“Purchased a used 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis from roundtree ford in shreveport, louisiana. I left with the vehicle and the driver seatbelt seemed to latch properly. I returned to the vehicle to run an errand and the seatbelt failed to latch. No matter what I tried the latch would not fasten to the belt. This has been reported to the rude used car manager billy flowers who did say to bring the car in for repair but that they do not have a policy that safety restraints be checked by service personnel prior to sale of a vehicle.”
NHTSA complaint #10185255, filed 2007-03, 69,610 miles“While in the vehicle can't sit down on the seat correctly. The seat belts are built incorrectly in the vehicle. Consumer contacted another dealer, and they said they could do nothing to fix the seat belts. Consumer stated that the problem was the lousy design of bringing the seat belt up through the seating surface of the front seats.”
NHTSA complaint #828974, filed 1998-10“The shoulder restraint belt in this vehicle applies too much pressure to consumer's shoulder, causing pains in the upper left shoulder. Dealer has been contacted.”
