Example complaints

One per model year, chosen for length and detail. Personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

2013: “The clutch slave cylinder failed which results in not being able to put the car in gear once you have stopped and placed the car in neutral. This failure happened at an intersection and caused me to not be able to proceed. One car almost slammed into me. Nissan has known about this inferior plastic part since 2009 and has not changed anything.”

NHTSA complaint #11406159, filed 2021-04, 58,000 miles

2009: “Vehicle fuel gauge said 1/4 of a tank as I was driving the car suddenly shut off on a busy road making it very dangerous. I had the car towed home and as I was trying to diagnose the problem I added gas to the tank and the car started. Obviously the problem is the fuel sending unit.”

NHTSA complaint #11384267, filed 2020-12, 93,000 miles

2010: “My steering lock assembley went out on my 2010 Nissan 370Z causing the car not to start. Had to have it towed to the dealership where I'm now finding out that there is no recall on this item or not covered on warranty. It seems that many other Nissan owners are having the same problem. Nissan refuses to pay and it's a $1,000 repair”

NHTSA complaint #10822094, filed 2016-01, 50,000 miles
