“Driving on street and hood flew up blocking all visability. Luckily no traffic was nearby and I was able to pull on shoulder of road. I was able to put hood down and secured it with duct tape. The top of the panels on both sides are now bent from the hood coming all the way up and they are chipping paint as well.”

NHTSA complaint #11317232, filed 2020-03, 70,000 miles

“I was driving on a highway at the speed of 50 MPH and my hood flew open. I had to slam on my brakes in the middle of the highway and try and pullover with no view out my front windshield. There is damage to my hood and surrounding area due to this mishap. I am afraid to ever open my hood in case it does not shut properly again. I had just bought this car in november of 2019. I had my son in the car with me at the time.”

NHTSA complaint #11327353, filed 2020-06, 72,500 miles

“My wife was driving our Nissan Altima 2015 in ca when the car without warning stalled in the middle of traffic . She had driven two blocks when this happened.the steering wheel locked and the car was not responding. The battery was apparently working because the radio was still working. She of course could not move out of the lanes.”

NHTSA complaint #10926631, filed 2016-11, 34,500 miles

“I was driving and realized my hood wasn't locked in place properly. As I'm driving on the interstate (I-95) the hood was seemingly blowing with the wind going under it. I had to pull over on I-95 to lift and force it to close down completely.”

NHTSA complaint #11354445, filed 2020-09, 60,000 miles

“I believe my airbags may have spontaneously deployed while driving on a straight at around 45 - 50 MPH, shocking and blinding me, causing me to veer off the side of the road and crashing into a ditch, totaling my car. All I remember was one second, I was driving and the next, I couldn't see anything and was braking & screaming, on a wild, bumpy ride, not knowing where to steer because I couldn't see past the airbags and dust/chemicals/smoke.”

NHTSA complaint #11241097, filed 2019-08, 73,000 miles
