“Takata recall the vehicle was stationary in a parking lot. Someone backed into my front bumper & drove away. My insurance company has the pictures state farm. I had the bumper repaired, the collision company told me to take my car to a Nissan dealer to see why the airbag light was still on. Serra Nissan told me I need a new airbag”

NHTSA complaint #11242768, filed 2019-08, 76,000 miles

“Takata recall passenger side airbag sensor is functioning abnormally. It will show the airbag off when there is no one and nothing in the seat at times and then will show the airbag to be functioning at others. It will also be erratic when I am sitting in the passenger side. I weight 120 lbs. Most times the airbag will show it is off and only register on for brief periods.”

NHTSA complaint #11051047, filed 2017-11, 50,000 miles

“Air bag light went on so we took it in for service. Vehicle has 60k miles and has never been involved in an accident. Ed martin fishers in Nissan said that replacing the drivers side airbag may fix the issue. Its not covered under warranty and the replacement is approximately $1400. How is this not a covered recall or warranty issue. It should't be a wear and tear item and there is nothing we did to break the air bag?”

NHTSA complaint #11186661, filed 2019-03, 61,000 miles

“After the airbag module was reprogrammed so the light would come on when the passenger seat was empty my brother who weighs 240 pounds sat in the passenger seat after I started the car and we drove away the light did not go out until 20 minutes past. My concern is does the system think he is under 50 pounds?”

NHTSA complaint #10947602, filed 2017-01, 25,000 miles

“The airbag sensor for the passenger seat stays on even when an adult passenger is sitting in the front passenger seat. We notice it occurs when the car is started prior to the passenger getting in. If we turn the car off and start it again the light goes out. Our VIN # was not part of the recall, but clearly it should have been.”
