“Engine RPM is uncontrollable engine light came on at 87781 miles no problems before this failure because I was not aware of this manufacturer failure I have exceeded my extended warranty by 3k miles and now I'm in a bad position to deal with this,I still owe on this car.this is very shameful for letting Nissan get away with this defect, now we the consumers have to pay.”

NHTSA complaint #11388933, filed 2021-01, 4 miles

“We were traveling from chicago to springfield, mo and were about 110 miles from home traveling 75 MPH when the car suddenly started to buck, then we heard a brief screeching noise twice. The car would rev up suddenly to 3-4 thousand rpms randomly. The car began to lose power uphill when trying to accelerate. None of our warning lights came on at all.”

NHTSA complaint #11257529, filed 2019-09, 46,200 miles

“When driving in rush hour traffic with a lot of stopping and starting, the car hesitates for a few seconds when I push on the gas after a red light or stop sign. It has not caused an accident or injury yet but it's just a matter of time. I can't believe there is no recall on the transmission when so many people have had this same issue!”

NHTSA complaint #11277188, filed 2019-10, 50,000 miles

“My Altima started having acceleration issue, took to Nissan dealer who advised a transmission issue. Told me it was covered under warranty. Found out a new transmission was needed and covered under an extended plan I paid for; not covered by Nissan at all. Car had 79k miles on it. A reman replaced as sy(what ever this code means)”

NHTSA complaint #11207232, filed 2019-05, 79,978 miles

“My car is jerking back and forth between gears. Very scary. This is happening in motion when I was going from 2nd to 3rd gear going about 30-50 miles. Rpm's revving up and down. The car is in great condition and has been regularly serviced and oil changed, so I expected it to be great for a longer time.”
