“I applied my brakes and stopped 10 feet behind a pick-up at traffic light. The car surged forward. I pushed on the brakes harder, stopped then the car surged again hitting the pick-up twice each time after stopping when pushing harder on the brakes. It is only after putting in neutral that it allowed me to control it and pull over to exchange driver information. The same happened while waiting to fill-up with gas in march 2018. I almost hit a small car. I put it into park at which time the shifter cable broke.”

NHTSA complaint #10910425, filed 2016-09, 200 miles

“Car involved is a 2004 Nissan Armada. I was pulling up in front of my son's friend's house to drop him off. My foot was on the brake and I was almost stopped when the car suddenly accelerated forward and hit a chevy truck that was parked in front of me. It lunged forward with such force it pushed the truck forward about 4 feet and the front passenger tire ended up on the curb. There is a lot of damage to both cars. This is the second incident within a 3 month time period. …”

NHTSA complaint #10505867, filed 2013-04, 110,000 miles

“Stuck throttle pedal: while driving with lose fitting sandals my sandal got jammed by the lip of the center counsel that extends out about a 1/2 and the gas pedal. My foot was stuck with the gas pedal fully depressed for a few seconds before I could dislodge it. There appears to be a design defect, the center counsel should fit flush with the tunnel.”

NHTSA complaint #10093218, filed 2004-09, 9,450 miles

“While exiting the freeway, going approx. 45 MPH the brakes on my 2004 Nissan Armada completely went out. When I pressed on the brake pedal I heard an awful grinding noise and the felt a vibration throughout the car and the pedal just went to the floor. The 'brake' light lit up on the dash and the emergency brake pedal moved 4-5 inches upwards from its normal position. This was the first time my brakes have completely gone out. I wasn't stopping and narrowly missed plowing into the back of a delivery truck. …”
