“I'm was driving when my tire popped and my car went across all three lanes, across the median, then across three lanes of oncoming traffic into some woods and hit a tree head on. All side airbags deployed but the front on didn't, which concerns me since I hit a tree head on. The side airbags left bruises on my face and neck injuries.”

NHTSA complaint #10434826, filed 2011-11, 91,010 miles

“I am a forensic consultant that has examined the subject vehicle which was involved in a serious frontal collision with an approximate 32 MPH longitudinal delta v. The driver was properly safety belted but the frontal air bags failed to deploy. This is a serious defect affecting public safety.”

“Tl * the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Maxima. The contact stated that the air bag sensor illuminated intermittently. The approximate failure mileage was 2,000.”

NHTSA complaint #10597725, filed 2014-06, 2,000 miles

“On June 6th. 2019 my 2005 nissan maxima struck a disabled vehicle left in the middle lane of the Long Island Expressway (a 3 laned highway). Although I was traveling at 60 mph when the collision occurred and struck the disabled vehicle from the rear, the passenger airbag never deployed. This resulted in the passenger receiving significantly more serious injuries than that of the driver (who's airbag did deploy).”

NHTSA complaint #11537062, filed 2023-08

“I have a recall notice from Nissan but my auto dealer left our area. Nissan told me to take it to another town that is at least 70 miles away. I cannot get it there. They will not pay another non-Nissan local dealer to do the work. What can I do?”
