Example complaints

Other or unknown: “We purchased this van brand new. From the beginning we have had air conditioning issues in the rear of the van. The blower motor has been replaced 3 times. The condenser once. The air flow is at a whisper so in the summer with high temps the back of the van is hot. Our children are not safe to ride back there. We have complained to the dealership and Nissan as well with not explanation or fix. I also have an issue with a couple seats seat belts that do not work. They have gotten stuck inside its housing unit.”

NHTSA complaint #11112231, filed 2018-07, 15,000 miles

Electrical system: “When driving our nv2500 on a city street the van just went dead. Engine quit, no electrical, no dash lights, nothing. I put the van in park and tried to restart. Nothing, totally dead. Waited a minute of so and tried to restart - same as before - nothing totally dead. Opened the hood and checked battery cables - ok. Looked for any loose ignition wire - ok. Looked underneath van for any liquids coming out of engine or anything else weird -ok. We called aaa to have the van taken to classic Nissan in statesville, nc. …”

NHTSA complaint #11193413, filed 2019-04, 49,880 miles

Air bags: “My wife stoped on the side of the road to talk with my son who was sitting in the front passenger seat. When my wife shut the door behind him all of the side curtain airbags deployed on the passenger side of the van. Three of my other children were inside the van when the bags depoyed. The two youngest 10, and 11, were sitting in the middle and were not hit with the bags. The oldest 14 was sittning next to the wall and was hit by the bags. There was no accident or impact that would have set the airbags off except the shutting of the front passenger door. …”

NHTSA complaint #11449100, filed 2022-01

Fuel system: “Fuel tank was taking 20 minutes to fill. We received a full tank warranty extenson notice but it took the dealer 3 trips to finally to get the right part and replace and after 2 hours they informed me that I needed to replace evap vent valve and canister assembly with filter for $620.00 I have never had this problem with any other vehicle . The dealer said it is a common problem with these vehicles. Then why hasn't this been recalled? I refused to have them do this as I don't trust since they couldn't even get the right part in and never even apologized for the inconvenience and down time.”
