Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The battery would not stay locked in place and this seemed to impact the mileage starting over and did not keep accurate amount of gas in vehicle. My transmission was going out; felt as if something was being dragged while driving. I have had to purchase tires twice since buying the vehicle even with getting rotations every other oil change.”

NHTSA complaint #11081803, filed 2018-03, 90,000 miles

“The tires wore very quickly on the back. I took the car to dealer where it was purchased. I only had the vehicle for 5-6 months when I first noticed how badly the tread had worn down. The front tires are worn very badly and I barely have 26000 miles. There is no reason the tires should have worn down this quickly. Within less than two years I will have had to replace all of the tires.”

NHTSA complaint #10762195, filed 2015-09, 14,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle was shaking, and the front end of the vehicle was wobbling. The contact pulled over and stopped to inspect the vehicle; upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact was unaware of the cause of the failure. The contact drove to a nearby Auto Parts Store and upon turning into the parking lot, the wheel detached from the vehicle. The contact stated that while inspecting the vehicle, the contact became aware that four of the five lug nuts were missing from the passenger’s side wheel. …”

NHTSA complaint #11616913, filed 2024-09, 139,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the front and rear wheels made an abnormal noise. Also, the rear tires were prematurely worn. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a front and rear alignment, but the failure continued. The suspension was unstable in the front and rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was also taken to two other independent repair shops for further diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.”
