“Engine would suddenly cut off while in motion at 25-35 miles per hour. Two repairs were necessary at a cost of approximately $500 to get the problem repaired. The problem was that both the front and rear crank shaft sensors had to be replaced. As for the seat problem, one of the release levers broke off completely. I have not yet had it repaired so I do not have a cost for this repair. I have to use pliers to release the lever.”

NHTSA complaint #11104526, filed 2018-06, 86,000 miles

“Nhtsa campaign number: 05v474 1. Sliding 2nd row seat forward. 2. Pinch point near chair handle crushed the tip of my 3rd finger 3. Nissan ignored my concerns and told me it was my fault. They were put on notice in december 2003. They also sent their engineer out of chicago to inspect the problem. They stated no defect existed and no correction was needed. …”

NHTSA complaint #10140870, filed 2005-10, 4,000 miles

“Second row bucket seat caught my right ring finger in the forward/back mechanism. My finger was nearly severed at the fingernail which resulted in a broken bone in the tip of my finger and 3 stitches in the emergency room.”

NHTSA complaint #10118747, filed 2005-04, 33,000 miles

“In december of 2006 we purchased a 2004 Nissan Quest se. The first year was not entirely trouble free, the drivers seat would self adjust while driving. The dealer fixed it no charge. The in december of 07 the trans went out, again the dealer covered it at no charge, gave us a loaner and were done within a week. Except for the inconvenience of not having our van we were fine until now!!! In june of 08 we were going for a sunday drive and the van just died in the middle of the street. Nothing would work nothing, no power anywhere. …”

NHTSA complaint #10238712, filed 2008-08, 69,000 miles

“While moving the second row, passenger seat, behind the driver, my right-hand, pinky fingertip was amputated. I was rushed to emergency and they could not reattach it. I have a 12 year-old child and I am concerned that this could happen to him or another passenger or younger child. This has been a horrific experience for my entire family and myself particulary because this should not have happened while moving a seat. There is a definite design flaw that needs to be corrected.”
