Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“I purchased a used 2010 Nissan Sentra sl on july 5, 2014 from a Nissan dealer. The very next day I discovered that when I moved the sun visor down to block the sun rays while driving, each time I moved the visor down or up it hit the rear view mirror. I needed to readjust the mirror before it was useful again. When the sun is just above the horizon it is particularly dangerous because it's impossible to set the visor to block the sun rays from hitting my eyes while driving due to the positioning of the mirror in relation to the visor. …”

NHTSA complaint #10664101, filed 2014-12, 48,900 miles

“The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the rear glass fractured after the contact activated the defroster to attempt to defrost the windows. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.”

NHTSA complaint #11643393, filed 2025-02, 100,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that the sun visors were on the wrong side. The shorter sun visor should be on the drivers side was on the passengers side and the longer sun visor that should be on the passengers side was on the drivers side, creating a safety hazard by obscuring her vision. The contacted informed the manufacturer and was advised to take the vehicle to an authorized dealer to be repaired. The failure and current mileages were approximately 380.”
