“While making a left hand turn onto my street I heard a loud popping sound from the right front side of my truck. While driving my truck the following week, the popping sound while turning and then squeaking started to get loud enough as to where people around the truck could hear it. I then took the truck to the dealership only to find that the strut tower bracket had separated from the frame of the pickup. I saw the damage myself and it appeared that the strut bracket was only tack welded in place. My insurance company claim was denied as there is no collision or comprehensive damage. …”

NHTSA complaint #10354204, filed 2010-09, 3,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Titan. While driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle began to bounce violently. The contact was able to continue driving. The failure recurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer three different times for the same failure. The four tires were rebalanced and a shim kit was installed. The failure recurred after the repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem in which there were no resolutions. The approximate failure mileage was 2,400.”
