“Leaf spring squeaking noise and also just had the rear replace on this vehicle I just bought this vehicle a year ago I don't do no hauling was so ever on this truck I did some research and Nissan knows about this problem but the don't want to do nothing rear, shackles, leaf spring.”

NHTSA complaint #10534460, filed 2013-08, 74,000 miles

“Leaf spring shackle broke at weld, and rear passenger leaf spring pushed through the body of my pickup bed . It wasn't that distinguishable, it sounded like a clunk in the rear and that was it. I will contact Nissan and see what they say. However, I will be purchasing aftermarket shackles today for install.”

NHTSA complaint #10363650, filed 2010-11, 86,000 miles

“When I stepped on the brakes to start stopping, it didn't feel like it was grabbing and I really had to stand on the pedal to stop before I hit the car in front of me. When I got home, I looked at all my brakes and found that the rear axle seal on the driver's side was leaking. Grease/oil was all over the rear brakes. I have had the seal replaced 3 times now. This is ridiculous and is a safety hazard. The dealer wants $1800 to do it again!! We need a recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10551106, filed 2013-11, 82,000 miles

“This vehicle has more common failures than any I have seen. Both of the rear leaf spring shackles rotted out. The rear axle seals are now leaking. In 6 months I have replaced 2 oxygen sensors and now for the 2nd time I am replacing the evap canister control valve. Nissan seems to ignore all of these issues and has redesigned many of these problem areas in newer models however does not own up to fixing the issues on vehicles that are on the road.”

NHTSA complaint #10456492, filed 2012-04, 107,455 miles

“Complete rear end failure of my 2005 Nissan Titan while driving 45mph on the highway. Failure happened at 62500 miles and is the first time to my knowledge (pre-owned). Rearend is being replaced by Nissan service center at a cost of $3500 that has to be paid personally as the truck is currently 2500 miles outside of the drivetrain warranty and it appears doubtful that Nissan will assist or even acknowledge the severe design flaw.”
