Example complaints

Transmission and drivetrain: “Transmission shifting is abrasive particularly when coming to a stop. Vehicle lurches forward when transmission shifts from 2nd to 1st. Loss of control imminent when traveling on slick surfaces. I have brought this to the attention of my local dealership and was told there are no warning lights illuminated so the transmission is working correctly. They also stated that this is a common complaint with no remedy?”

NHTSA complaint #11627194, filed 2024-11

Brakes: “The truck was parked on hill and as I unlocked it, it rolled down 2 blocks. Hit a brick wall and finally went into a yard and hit a parked car. This is the second time this truck has rolled down. First time, I was able to catch it but this time I couldn’t. It was horrific to witness.”

NHTSA complaint #11579422, filed 2024-03

Forward collision avoidance: “I have a 2023 Nissan Titan XD 4x4. Recently I have experienced a major malfunction with the automatic braking system. While driving the vehicle I have experienced several times that the front left wheel is locking up briefly and pulling me sharply to the left. I have almost slid into other vehicles and guardrails during this malfunction. I immediately brought it to my local Nissan dealer,(Coggin Nissan) in Jacksonville Fl. and reported the problem on three occasions. They offered no findings or solutions to correct the problem. …”

NHTSA complaint #11682769, filed 2025-08

Suspension: “The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for tire repairs and was advised that an alignment was needed. The contact stated that the vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it was determined that the alignment could not be performed because the required bolts were missing. The alignment was not completed, and the vehicle was not repaired. The contact believed that the vehicle was sold with the missing parts. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 44,000.”
