“There was no actual accident, but I am extremely concerned. On november 8th I was just starting on the highway, so not even at speed limit, when I felt that pressing on the accelerator it hesitated. I noticed it a few more times and then the service engine light came on. I took it to the dealership and they said to return a week later for the earliest service appointment, but that it was safe to drive. Once in for servicing, I was notified that it would need a new fuel pump because there was a leak. …”

NHTSA complaint #10552313, filed 2013-11, 75,000 miles

“Shortly after purchasing a new 2010 Nissan Versa in 2011 I noticed that every time the vehicle was driven at about 15 plus MPH there was a loud clunking noise for about 15 seconds. If the brake pedal was pushed there would be a heavy felt vibration. Twice it seems as though the front end shook. The vehicle was taken to the shop three times and different parts were replaced/repaired. They did not seem to know what the problem was. On the fourth and subsequent times I complained, they said it was the antilock brake system self check system causing the problem and it was normal. …”

NHTSA complaint #10577016, filed 2014-04, 300 miles

“When driving I can hear a chirping noise from the engine area; when accelerating sounds like coming from the front right hand possibly the tires; the breaks do not react on command; the shifter material on the automobile delaminated; button on seat belt came off; driver rear door coming apart; engine light is on; experienced problems with water intrusion from outside; engine and engine cooling, exterior lighting, noise from steering column, electrical problems radio not working; vehicle has not started at times; rear hatch would not open; the automobile's gas tank had to be replace; when I…”

NHTSA complaint #10653657, filed 2014-11, 4,553 miles

“Car in motion on nj state highway 94, sparta, nj. Car had 39k miles. The fuel pump failed on a two-lane highway with no shoulders, but was able to pull over into someone's driveway. It was a sunday afternoon, 8/30/2015, but was able to get towed through aaa. Situation was dangerous because it is a busy highway. A fuel pump failure occurs without warning, is dangerous, and should not occur in a vehicle that has a Nissan dealer's regular service record, is under 40k miles, and driven only by two people in their 70's. Receipt for repairs is available if requested.”

NHTSA complaint #10795045, filed 2015-11, 39,500 miles

“I bought my car while living in Florida from a lady that didn't drive it for a while and after I bought it I drove it i drove to Washington two and a half times. …”
