NHTSA complaint #10473985, filed 2012-09, 90,000 miles

“Owner of 2007 Nissan Xterra. Rear suspension bottoms out with minimal weight. Nissan admits there is a problem but will not do anything about it. Soft ride suspension they call it. When carrying passengers or towing an rv, rear suspension bottoms out on roads with small bumps and potholes. When vehicle bottoms out , all weight goes abruptly onto tires, causing damage to tire tread and sidewall.”
