“I purchased my first vehicle in january 2016 at kia depot of santa ana (now kia of orange).. And I feel it is a safety hazard. One month after I purchased the vehicle, I noticed battery corrosion. About a week later I was driving and there was a loud thud that forced me off the road on a busy street and I had to call a tow truck. Turns out the emergency break was completed rusted and crumbled away from the car - this was not the only thing that was rusted I discovered. …”

“The brakes on my 2007 Nissan Xterra would not fully activate and almost caused me to have an accident. I was entering I-95 southbound and traffic was stopped on the ramp from lem turner road. I was traveling at approximately 25 MPH when the vehicle would not stop. There was a light rain and I had recently driven through standing water which was approximately one inch deep. The vehicle traveled approximately eight car lengths, during which time I had the brake pedal fully depressed, before coming to a stop within a few feet of a stopped car. …”

“If you hit the brakes while it is raining or after going thru a puddle, the brakes will lock up. If you hit the brakes suddenly, they will lock up. I have had the vehicle for eight years and the problem has been constant.”

NHTSA complaint #10954080, filed 2017-02, 50,000 miles

“Oil is getting into the radiator and causing a gray gunk build up in radiator and possibly the engine. I have had the car less than a 1 1/2 years And I've already had to have the same issue fixed 3 × first time. The heater hose blew out caused an air bubble in the radiator which caused us to have to burp the radiator Which is when we found it the first time had sent it to the mechanic. Had it flushed, had it fixed. it was fine or so we thought until about a month ago. Car overheats radiator fluid spews out everywhere. Fix the hose, add radiator fluid and start. …”
