“The security light on my 2001 Pontiac Grand Am gt remains on and the vehicle does not start. (I was eventually - 20 minutes - able to get help to push the car off the road.) everything shut off and car would not restart....everything including the power-steering. This has happened one other time and the vehicle is now nothing more then a two-ton paperweight in my garage - and about as useful. …”

NHTSA complaint #10542855, filed 2013-09, 118,947 miles

“I have a 2001 Grand Am and I keep having the same problem with the security pass lock system. I first had this problem in 2004 and paid 400.00 to fix it. Well it started again june 07. I don't have the funds to fix it again so I keep resetting it.I also never received the info on the turn signals and hazard lights and now mine is messing up. They need to recall this system.”
