“Our 2025 Ram Rebel stalled on a 55-mph curve on a busy freeway. Fearful, I deliberately drifted the vehicle to the right side of the road looking for an emergency lane. The truck regained momentum and I drove it another 10 miles. Coming to a stop, I heard mechanical griding and felt the truck shudder. I drove it home. My husband took the truck, and the same griding and shuddering happened to him twice over a 15-minute period while driving on surface streets less than 20 mph. The truck did not stall on him. -We have been told by the dealership that the transfer case failed. …”

NHTSA complaint #11755809, filed 2026-08, 15,000 miles

“I parked in a lot for about 30 minutes while taking a short hike. When I returned and started the truck the dash was black, no gauges, no PRND indication, nothing and the warning lights in the mirrors stayed illuminated continuously. We were in a National monument and decided to try and get back to the visitor center for someplace safe. When I placed the vehicle in what should have been reverse the vehicle rolled back but only because it was on a slope. When I shifted to where drive should be nothing happened. I tried several times as we were now in the traffic lane on a curve. …”

NHTSA complaint #11736206, filed 2026-05

“While driving in 4x4 on a snow covered road, the truck simultaneously got a check engine light as well as several other error messages to include service required to the emergency braking and the trailer brake controller. At the same time, the full exhaust brake engaged without any driver input and caused a sudden slowing of the truck's tires on a slippery surface. …”

NHTSA complaint #11712817, filed 2026-01

“Check engine light consistently comes on with codes p0263, p0272, p0266 for contribution balance codes for cylinders 1, 2, 4 & 5. Truck runs rough. Dealership says it’s a 5-8 week process to test and get injectors into replace if that’s the issue. Multiple sources have stated it can be a software update issue and some states still waiting after weeks for fix to be made and paying for a rental car out pocket to have reliable transportation for work and taking care of kids.”

NHTSA complaint #11715721, filed 2026-02

“While driving at a low speed vehicle has shut down and VIC says shift into park to start once you shift the vehicle into park you can restart it . This has happened twice and no computer codes are stored.”
