“My Ram 3500 2017 lost shifting in an intersection. It was towed to hermiston chrysler in oregon 9/21/2020. They say warranty requires them to determine the failure of the transmission. Parts were sent to fix it. Now warranty says send pictures. Might send new transmission. I made a 1400 mile trip there this week and came home in another rental. My pickup camper is stranded there.”

NHTSA complaint #11372562, filed 2020-11, 38,000 miles

“This is about my dead pedal when letting of the accelerator to merge ect there is like a 2 to 3 second delay in power. I have almost been hit several times. I do not trust the truck. Seems like a accident waiting to happen.”

NHTSA complaint #11203240, filed 2019-04, 15,300 miles

“I have a 2017 Ram 3500 with an aisin transmission. The throttle lag in this truck is very dangerous. I really have to be careful when crossing roads or pulling into traffic because the truck hesitates 2-5 seconds after I press on the throttle. This is a very dangerous situation and must be looked into. I have found many, many other people complaining of this problem and how serious it is. Ram will not do anything about it. Please look into before someone is killed, if they havent been already.”

NHTSA complaint #11080888, filed 2018-03, 500 miles

“I was driving in heavy traffic on the freeway and attempting to merge to the right to exit the freeway. When I pressed the gas pedal to the floor to accelerate and merge into traffic, the engine hesitated and there was no power at all for 2-3 seconds. After that short period, the engine accelerated and I was able to safely merge. This sudden failure to accelerate when merging is a hazard because while waiting for power from the engine another car could close the distance and hit me due to the unexpected hesitation.”

NHTSA complaint #10978977, filed 2017-04, 1,600 miles

“While beginning to pull out onto the highway, I noticed a vehicle that appeared to be coming faster than expected, I let off the throttle and then made the decision to continue entering the highway. When I got back on the throttle, there was an approximate 2 second delay where there is absolutely no throttle response. I averted an accident by managing to pull off the road, but this is an extremely dangerous situation. I had the same issue with my 2013 Ram 3500 I had previously. To summarize, I would call this a dead pedal issue. …”
