“Every month I am receiving a check engine light for abs / traction control / failure. Dealer states HPU unit is bad, however I noticed all the fuses in the fuse box were loose. I pushed them in to reseat and the error cleared. This happens monthly. This last time happened during a snow storm and disabled abs.”

“Without warning the transmission failed. Along with loss of power, when the tranny failed, the ability to use the exhaust brake also fails. The ability to manually downshift fails. I was on steep winding roads in North Idaho (Elk River) when this occurred with three passengers aboard. Once I was able to stop, I was on a steep uphill grade with no forward gears or shoulder to pull over on. I had to coast in neutral back down the mountain to an appropriate site to get off the road. All of this with no forward or reverse gears. …”

“The brake and accelerator pedals are not aligned well. It is very easy for your foot to slip between the two when moving from the accelerator to the brake. The offset heights and distance of travel result in your foot slipping in-between them. This prevents the vehicle from stopping and can cause an accident. It seems like the accelerator pedal should be further forward than the brake pedal. I don't have this issue with any other vehicles I have driven. I'm 6' with a size 11 boot. My entire boot slips between these pedals easily.”

“Truck has 61423 miles. Started to hear a slight grinding noise from front brakes 70 miles ago. Started to get worse. Suddenly pedal went to floor and lost all front brake pressure and rear brakes did about nothing to help stop. Limped truck back to my garage. Upon inspection, front left outer pad was completely gone. Caliper was directly making contact with rotor. Inner pad still has plenty of use left. Inner pad has the metal piece to make the noise to alert you that your pads need to be replaced. I can supply pictures of caliper missing 3/16 of material and remaining pad surface.”

NHTSA complaint #11563823, filed 2024-01

“The contact owns a 2022 Ram 3500. The contact stated while driving at approximately 70 MPH the ABS (Anti Lock Brake System) warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that as he slowed to exit the highway he depressed the brake pedal which went to the floorboard. The contact stated that he had no brakes and was only able to stop the vehicle using the brakes on the trailer he was towing. …”
