“Integrated brake system for towing trailers (itbs) does not work. Safety hazard as the truck can not stop the 150000 pound 29t arctic fox 5th wheel. After 4 attempts dodge gave up and said the itbs works as designed. The 5th wheel was certified that the brakes work with other tow vehicles. Not with our Ram 3500 which is rated to tow 22000 pounds which is a safety hazard. We are unable to stop the trailer in an emergency or uner normal driving conditions using the itbs.”

NHTSA complaint #11196949, filed 2019-04, 1,000 miles

“The brakes are very soft and the truck leans on the drivers side. Drivers side rear sits 1 inch lower and the front drivers side is 1/2 lower this leaning issue causes the truck to handle different when turning right while driving.”

NHTSA complaint #11206540, filed 2019-05, 5,000 miles

“My 2018 Ram 3500 is included in the NHTSA Recall # 24V-896. My warning lights have been coming on for a while now and so I believe my ABS is not active. I am being told parts are not available. As I am sure you know the recall was issued 11/27/2024. I feel like they have had more than enough time to have the parts available and am very dissatisified with the situation.”

NHTSA complaint #11722338, filed 2026-03

“It has been 3 years of our ABS failing due to a Brake HCU not being replaced. Now the engine light comes on due to issues with the Electronic Braking System. We cannot use this to travel due to the cruise control going out as soon as the ABS light goes on which is every 5 minutes. Why is this allowed to be on recall but ‘ no fix has been determined’?!!!! We need answers.”

NHTSA complaint #11734997, filed 2026-04

“I am getting an error concerning the antilock brakes on my truck. This error is random shows up every few days. When it does show up it dings every thirty seconds and does not stop, which is very distracting. Also shuts off the cruise control. It took a copy of the recall to my local dodge dealer and they will not fix it.”
