2014 Ram Promaster Electrical system Problems

“Issues with our 2014 Promaster started in 2016. Inserted key to start it and it wouldn't start. Key was locked in ignition. Towed to dodge service center and they had it 3wks. They replaced many parts including PCM board, shifter assembly, and many others. The same issue happened in 2017 and twice in 2018. Different service measures were taken. Today I was getting gas at speedway, jumped back into vehicle and the entire electrical system was dead! Had to have it towed. Since the dodge dealership couldn't fix it the other 4 times, I had it towed to an independent. …”

“I took the 2014 dodge Ram Promaster van to lithia dodge in eugene, oregon to do the recall work. They refused citing dodge corporate not allowing them to inspect the vehicle for possible dangerous and deadly situations related to the recalls. There are now four recalls = all of them life threatening recalls that must be performed asap!! I am now told I have to drive 2 hours 15 minutes one way to get service for my vehicle. That is impossible for me as I am elderly and cannot drive that far. …”

“Ever since we brought this vehicle roughly a year ago, it was sent back for service 8 times with no significant improvement. There are potentially fatal issues including: the air bag lights are always on, turn signals function on and off periodically, the plate lights don't work even upon bulb replacement, electrical failure which LED to a bulb melting (see photo attached) . These issues pose serious and potentially fatal risks to our drivers and to the public. The dealers have failed to permanently rectify these issues.”

“I was parked in a lot with the engine running and the check engine light came on (solid, not flashing so I assumed it was ok to drive). After I started moving a bit, the temperature gauge red-lined. I parked and let it cool off. When I started driving again, the cel was on but the temp was normal and stayed normal until I reversed into my driveway...at which point the gauge redlined again and the pressure release on the coolant tank tripped and coolant started shooting everywhere. I took it into the dealer and they confirmed that it was a fan control module that needs replacement. …”

“I bought it brand new at 500 miles the brakes started squeezing, numerous trips to dealer they say there may be a recall and will contact me never heard back , replace brakes and rotors at 38k miles , now 70k miles brakes and rotors worn out again, stopping every thing always squeals even when new , 2nd lay there some sort of short some times all power on radio etc goes off by it self than comes back on after several minutes 3rd I complained about the body rusting at 2500 miles I'm very disappointed and would not by such another cheap vechile nor would I recommend one to anyone else 4th…”
