“I experienced sudden loss of control of my 2007 Saturn ION while traveling at 35-40 MPH. I swerved back and forth 3 times before crashing front end into a mountain (rock wall). No driver airbag deployment. No passenger airbag deployment. Complete/total loss of vehicle. No reported injuries.”

NHTSA complaint #10616562, filed 2014-07, 123,400 miles

“Passenger airbag issue where the passenger awareness system had a fault. It disabled my air bags. For a couple weeks I rode around not knowing all my air bags were disabled. Dealer charged around $900 to replace sensor! I felt like I had to choose between safety and spending a ton of money.”

NHTSA complaint #10607265, filed 2014-07, 40,000 miles

“Almost a year ago I started having problems with my airbag light coming on. This light is telling me that the driver side airbag will not deploy if I were in a accident. This light comes on periodically, most of the time it comes on when it is hot outside. Prior to this light coming on I had problems with my power steering locking on me while I was driving. The power steering was a recall. …”

NHTSA complaint #10423777, filed 2011-09, 40,000 miles

“Received recall notice about 3 years ago regarding fuel tank. However, it specified certain states of origin. I disregarded notice since I was not residing in one of those states. My car periodically smells of gas, my check engine light and low performance light goes on/off and my mechanic suggested recall. My suspension issues have required replacement of bearing and sway bar on more than one occasion. My passenger airbag light stays on all the time and dings as a reminder every time I start my vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11043158, filed 2017-11, 75,000 miles

“I was recently in an accident and now a little while later my airbag light is coming. I want to know why after so many complaints about this same issue nothing has been done about it. Obviously something is wrong with the airbags...”
