“My car was parked. I saw a crack in the windshield (cause unknown) on the passenger side that began at the top glass and descended, then heading inwards towards the mirror. Over the course of 2 days, it has extended past the mirror into the driver view. The Subaru glass (agc automotive, DOT-376, m8h4 as1, 30e, lamisafe) could be faulty.”
NHTSA complaint #11166069, filed 2019-01, 650 miles“In january 2020, within one month of ownership, at 1200 miles, my windshield began to crack and spread over the entire glass. I replaced it with oem glass and the dealer recalibrated the eyesight system. In december 2020, at about 20,000 miles, the windshield glass started to present gold speckles when light hit it. I took it to the dealer and he found nothing. It continues to impact my visibility.”
NHTSA complaint #11399754, filed 2021-03, 20,000 miles“The windshield on my Subaru Ascent cracked in two different places without anything striking them. Please see pictures attached to see. On both occasions my car was parked in my driveway and when I came out there was a crack on two separate occasions. This happened within two weeks of each other.”
NHTSA complaint #11325873, filed 2020-05, 10,000 miles“Was driving approx 40 MPH when I heard a small bang. At first I thought I kicked up a small stone. 30 seconds later a crack developed in front of the front seat passenger. At first it was only about 6 inches long. An hour later it was close to 18 inches”
NHTSA complaint #11318006, filed 2020-03, 23,500 miles“Within a few months of just driving our 2019 Ascent , the windshield seemed to have cracked overnight!! My wife had noticed it and said that when she was driving the day before she didn't notice it , but when she left in the morning it was there.”
