“After being struck by another vehicle, then striking a concrete post, the air bags did not deploy. Prior to being struck, consumer's vehicle was traveling at 70 MPH. Consumer sustained minor injuries. Vehicle considered a total loss.”
NHTSA complaint #10108954, filed 2005-03, 9,000 miles“The contact owns a 2004 Suzuki Verona. While the contact's husband was driving 25 MPH, he t-boned another vehicle. The front end of the vehicle was smashed in and the vehicle was destroyed. The air bags failed to deploy. Two occupants were injured and a police report was filed. The manufacturer has not been notified. The current and failure mileages were 60,287. Updated 10-08-08 updated 10/09/08.”
NHTSA complaint #10240168, filed 2008-08, 60,287 miles“A 40 MPH offset frontal crash test was performed on a 2004 Suzuki Verona at the institute's vehicle research center. After the crash test, it was apparent the driver front air bag failed to deploy properly. The air bag only partially inflated and provided little protection for the dummy's head. Once the dummy's forward momentum had stopped, the flat airbag began to rapidly inflate, which propelled the dummy rearward until it contacted the b-pillar.”
