“I purchased my 2004 Suzuki Verona on jan. 30, 2007. From the second day I own it, it has made noise like it was a diesel engine. I was told that the ticking sound coming from the top end of the motor was normal, that it was the self adjusting cam gears. I could hear a rod knocking in the lower end of the motor but no one at the service department could hear it and their trained to hear these type of things. Suzuki supposedly rebuilt the top end of the motor but the ticking continued. …”

NHTSA complaint #10272350, filed 2009-05, 39,000 miles

“This is my sisters car and has been getting steadily worse as time goes on. When she first purchased the car, 6 months ago, it was a slight hesitation. We thought it was the range sensor. That didn't solve the problem. Neither did new plugs, nor patching some vacuum leaks, cleaning maf sensor. Sudden, barely controllable speed changes, shifting out of sequence and hesitation when accelerating. This vehicle is a death trap. I feel, after all these testimonials, that GM should be held responsible. After all, the door tag says that it's a GM daewoo vehicle. …”

NHTSA complaint #10523707, filed 2013-07, 107,589 miles

“I am sending you this complaint in an attempt to inform you of Suzuki motor company that is located in you state. I live in texas but have been dealing with Suzuki for over a year now trying to get them to make repairs to my vehicle so that I may not end up in a serious accident caused by the Suzuki Verona I own. My information may not be completely accurate but what I have read does warrant an investigation on your part. The Suzuki Verona was a model of daewoo then Suzuki bought daewoo from general motors. …”

NHTSA complaint #10223796, filed 2008-04, 55,000 miles

“As I exited a freeway, I braked to disengage the cruise control and started slowing down. The car acted as though it was auto-braking to slow down as if going down a steep hill several times very severely and came to a complete stop. It would not go forward or in reverse until I turned off the cruise control and the engine and restarted it. On two other occasions, the car would not move after stopping to enter a ferry and with my wife attempting to leave a parking lot.”

NHTSA complaint #10091116, filed 2004-09, 7,900 miles

“I had the transmission replaced in the first month I had the car, also the car stalls out, I had the car since oct.I got to replace the rotors there making a funny noise.”
