“Car has stalled since 2006 at 24k. Now it misfires, dealer told me it was spark plugs. Upon replacing them I noticed oil on them. I'm sure they'll give me the run around when I take it back. And why is there no investigation pending?”

NHTSA complaint #10213804, filed 2008-01, 71,000 miles

“The idle will not stay at one speed / goes from 750 down to 300 back up to 1200 . The dealers act like they have never heard of this problem and do not know how to fix it. The 2 dealers in my area have now closed up and I have to go farther now to get it serviced.”

NHTSA complaint #10167203, filed 2006-09, 35,000 miles

“Engine light came on 10 minutes after I purchased the vehicle on august 6, 2005 it was sputerring and jerking when I tried to accelerate also at low speeds it acts as though it is going to cut off. The vehicle is still under warranty. Took it to the dealer they found cylinder #2 plug failed. They replaced it. 2 days later the engine light was back on I am taking the car back to the dealership tomorrow august 25, 2005.”

NHTSA complaint #10134131, filed 2005-08, 13,400 miles

“I purchased my 2004 Suzuki Verona on jan. 30, 2007. From the second day I own it, it has made noise like it was a diesel engine. I was told that the ticking sound coming from the top end of the motor was normal, that it was the self adjusting cam gears. I could hear a rod knocking in the lower end of the motor but no one at the service department could hear it and their trained to hear these type of things. Suzuki supposedly rebuilt the top end of the motor but the ticking continued. …”

NHTSA complaint #10272350, filed 2009-05, 39,000 miles

“Periodic low idle miss occurred first for the last several months, occasionally, the check engine light would come on with it for a very short time. Now, the engine stalls out at traffic stops. Have recently been experiencing a forward surge upon pressing on the gas feed from a stop or low speed. I feel that my safety is at risk, I am afraid to make a left turn for fear the car will stop in front of oncoming traffic, be rear ended, or I could surge forward into another vehicle or pedestrian. …”
