“Door locks does not work with key/switch. Electric relay or the solenoids do not work. Once I lock the door, I can not open it, neither from inside nor from outside. This is for 1991 Camry (Toyota).”
NHTSA complaint #10249005, filed 2008-11“Both front doors are stuck in locked position. I consider this a safety issue, as it makes it extremely difficult to exit the vehicle. Since there have been numerous compliants for this problem on 1991 camrys, and 1987-1990 camrys were recalled for the same problem, I believe that the recall should be extended to 1991 models.”

He had several friends that were unable to unlock and start their vehicles. Consumer believed that this was a safety issue that NHTSA should look into.
