“Since December 18, 2024 I have had this happen 5 times. I come to a complete stop and have my foot on the brake. The car will then hop four-five times (like the sensation of shifting in manual with a cluch and you don’t shift correctly and the car will hop). I am not sure why this is happening. I took it to the dealer and they haven’t experienced the issue. This doesn’t happen at every full stop either.”
NHTSA complaint #11634355, filed 2025-01“I was driving toward the perimeter of my neighborhood, approaching an arterial cross street. When I braked the pedal went straight to the floor. The breaks didn’t work despite pumping them multiple times. I also heard the engine revving. To avoid the intersection and busy street I steered into a yard, hit a retaining wall and a tree, rolled and hit a metal city street sign. All airbags deployed. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The car was totaled and is on a temporary hold at a salvage yard.”

There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that excessive pressure was needed on the brake pedal to prevent the failure. The contact stated that a service appointment was scheduled with the dealer. …”
NHTSA complaint #11754401, filed 2026-08, 39,000 miles“When making a left or right turn in this vehicle, there is a distinct knocking or clicking sound coming from under the drivers foot area. Dealer reviewed CV axel and suspension and says everything looks fine. However, I have driven enough cars to know that a persistent knocking sound while turning is not normal. This appears to be an issue with multiple 2024 Grand Highlander owners.”
NHTSA complaint #11658601, filed 2025-05“The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander. The contact stated while the vehicle was stationary, the contact moved the third-row seat, and the seat made and abnormal sound. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact then took the vehicle to the dealer and the dealer made unknown repairs. On a separate occasion the contact became aware the bottom of the window was fractured. The contact then taped the door on the bottom of the window. The system function error message was displayed. …”
