“I have taken my vehicle to Wilde Toyota (2 time) for the same issue . The car either moves/slids to the left or right. They adjusted the wheel alignment in November and now again I am having the same issue. Took the car again to Wilde Toyota and they are asking me for 185 USD for the wheel alignment. I told them this looks like a drive train or suspension issue but there were hesitant to check it.”

NHTSA complaint #11707549, filed 2025-12

“while the engine has not warmed up, when its hot and air conditioning is on high, vehicle does not respond to the gas pedal while trying to accelerate from a stop. vehicle hesitates on acceleration. i feel this is a safety problem, because i need the car to merge quickly onto the road from a stop. this hesitation could cause a bad accident. i feel like the hesitation, is the car trying to find the gear.”

NHTSA complaint #11603113, filed 2024-07

“2024 Toyota Grand Highlander XLE FWD. At approximately 38,000 miles I began hearing a roaring/humming noise that varied with vehicle speed. The condition initially progressed slowly but then became much worse within several days. At 41,510 miles a Toyota dealer diagnosed and replaced the right rear hub/wheel bearing assembly. I was advised that the failed bearing was nearly seized when removed. After replacement the noise was reduced but remained present. …”

NHTSA complaint #11762946, filed 2026-09

“Reported issues of lag in acceleration and harsh shifting into reverse, the vehicle has been brought to the dealership multiple times stemming from shortly after previous, there are no warnings lights on. I requested the dealership provide in writing if the deemed the vehicle safe for operation. They would not do so. I requested a loaner while my vehicle is being reviewed for repurchase and was denied. When my repurchase claim was denied, I requested a reconsideration and again a loaner.”

NHTSA complaint #11725473, filed 2026-03

“The car stalls or fails to accelerate from a complete stop despite adequately stepping on the gas pedal. This has left me in dangerous situations with oncoming cars as my car fails to move as expected. This issue occurs sporadically.”
