“In april of 2010 I was driving down the highway when my depressed gas pedal went to the floorboard with no acceleration and the check engine light came on. I was able to merge into the emergency lane and after turning the ignition off and back on it resolved itself. This happened several more times over the following week in various locations at various speeds. I took the car to the Toyota dealership I had purchased it at just 2 years prior & was told that I needed an updated engine harness. …”
NHTSA complaint #10459705, filed 2012-05, 38,000 miles“During the past several winters the brake and ABS warning lights have come on when driving during wet snowy/slushy conditions. The condition would fix itself after the vehicle dried out. This started after 30k miles/2 years of ownership. This winter (2013) the warning lights lit up and stayed lit. Took it to the dealer and they said it requires a new wheel speed sensor and wiring harness. Research online has shown multiple instances of this failure in 2007-2008 yaris'. Toyota has issued a TSB concerning this matter. (TSB number: TSB-0120-08). …”
