While driving approximately 35 MPH, the contact noticed smoke coming from under the seat and felt an increase of heat on both of his legs. The contact shut off the vehicle but was unable to restart. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic. The technician advised the contact that the electrical harness would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.”

At the time he reported that it 'took off on it's own and he could not stop it'. Frankly we thought that he was trying to explain bad driving or something of the sort. When we went to examine the scooter to estimate repairs we had the same thing happen with the scooter and the center stand. We currently have the scooter in our possession and the defect should be repeatable. We have notified piaggio over a week ago and they have not contacted us.”
