“2024 VinFast VF8 – Repeated Sudden Loss of Propulsion at Highway Speeds My 2024 VinFast VF8 has experienced three separate incidents of sudden loss of propulsion while being driven at highway speeds. On August 1, 2026, while traveling at approximately 80 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion. I was able to maneuver the vehicle to the side of the roadway. The vehicle restarted after approximately 15 minutes. A “12V Battery Fault” warning was displayed. On August 2, 2026, while traveling at approximately 80 mph, the vehicle again suddenly lost propulsion. …”
NHTSA complaint #11762114, filed 2026-09“The left turn signal fails to activate when pressing down on the turn signal lever. Happens intermittently. Vinfast repair center says they can not duplicate the problem. Online forums report this is a widespread problem which Vinfast does not know how to repair. This is a major safety concern because when you press down on the lever you assume your turn signal is on and therefore you change lanes. But many times I'm changing lanes and the signal is not on. Therefore it could cause a collision with another vehicle.”
